How long will it take to walk a mile?
- Watch the video. Tell (and record) what you notice. Ask (and write) questions that could help you figure out the answer to the above question.
- Develop a plan for answering the question. Think about how you will record and organized your information.
- Present a solution and justify your thinking.
Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.

Materials: Place to write (notebook, dry erase board, etc.), video, rulers or measurement tool, conversation chart of feet to miles (5,280 ft. = 1 mile).
